Ecosperity Week 2023

Updated: Oct 6, 2023

“We don’t have time. Perfect cannot be the enemy of good, and we need to get moving.“

- Catherine McKenna, Principal & Founder, Climate and Nature Solutions/Women Leading on Climate, Former Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Canada

Last week, our cofounders Penny Low & Elisabetta Jiang attended Ecosperity Week 2023, an event that brought key world players together to address high-impact technology & its financial levers to create global breakthroughs. This was done through panels, roundtables, workshops and pitch sessions, and provided a platform for more action-oriented dialogue and networking opportunities.

Prof Patrick Bellew, one of the speakers at Ecosperity Week, highlighted that there is a narrowing window of opportunity to do something related to climate. Everyone has a part to play, and we need to act fast & together to improve our planet. For instance, clients and developers can contribute by asking for sustainable architecture design, reflecting a mindset centred on sustainability. He is the founding director of Atelier Ten, a Green Architecture company that has designed Gardens by the Bay & many other iconic projects globally.

Another notable feature of Ecosperity Week was the Impact Investing round table discussion, which focused on driving inclusive growth & emerging markets.

Finally, the event also featured the finals of the Liveability Challenge 2023. Many exciting and tech-for-good solutions were presented, and SIP is heartened to know that there are many who are actively contributing to sustainability efforts around the world. Congratulations once again to Rishita Changede & the team at TeOra for winning the food & nutrition category, and Raghubir Gupta & the team at Susteon for winning the climate change category.

UFG would like to congratulate Temasek Foundation for its continued success in organising such a meaningful event!
